Even though it's a small island and a bit distant from Athens and the mainland, Symi can be reached quite easily nonetheless!

THERE IS NO AIR SERVICE TO Symi. You may however fly to the island of RHODOS and from there catch A FERRY BOAT OR HYDROFOIL TO SYMI ISLAND

There is only 1 weekly ferry boat departure from the port of Piraeus (Athens) to Symi island year-round. Travel time is approximately 19 hours. For exact ferry timetables CLICK HERE 
Alternatively you may reach the island of Rhodes and from there catch a hydrofoil or smaller local boat to Symi.
